We're excited to be part of a multi-institution NSF-funded program called the Bay Area RaMP Program in Microbiome Science. 2022-2023 was its inaugural year and we are very lucky to be matched with Cierra Ahlstrand as our first ever scholar. Andi was her direct mentor and also led an awesome hands on course for all the RaMP Scholars. Cierra became a skin immunology officionado over her time in the lab, but we couldn't steer her fully away from her first scientific love: the oral cavity. She is now a Junior Research Specialist in the School of Dentistry at UCSF and aspires to a PhD. Check out some photos of her time in the lab and our experiences with RaMP.
