Vaccines allowed us to enjoy an unmasked, undistanced retreat in the Portal Valley Redwoods this June. Aside from the mosquitos and a tick who tried to hitch-hike back to SF, fun was had by all.
We're thrilled to have Laura Dwyer join the lab as a BMS PhD student. Laura's interest is in understanding how early skin and gut bacteria tune immune development in pre-term infants through metabolic pathways.
Tiffany received a top award for mid-career physician-scientists from the Dermatology Foundation to support the lab's efforts to understand how early life bacteria-barrier interactions contribute to atopy and eczema.
To commemorate 1 year in distance mode and celebrate the labs fully vaccinated status we got together for a (still masked and largely distanced) afternoon of outdoor fun and games.
